Governor Mike Beebe has requested that the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (Commission) solicit water, waste water and non-point pollution management projects to utilize funds provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Attached are documents outlining the solicitation process and applicable deadlines for each type of project.
In addition to traditional projects, ARRA reserves a portion of its funds for green infrastructure projects. The Commission would encourage the submission of these green projects as well.
ARRA funds are to be used for projects ready to begin construction in order that we may preserve and create jobs and promote economic recovery. To be eligible for ARRA funds, a project must have a Facilities Plan, Environmental Review and Plans and Specification all completed and approved by the Commission by September 1, 2009. If this deadline can not be met, ARRA funds will not be offered. The decision as to the likelihood of completion of these items by the deadline will be in the sole discretion of the Commission.
